1991/2010 Liberty Classic Lady Prevost XL40 Motorcoach
VIN# 2P9M33403M1001910
Why not leave the fiberglass, plastic and wood
paneling to others
and take command of this lovingly restored
riveted-stainless steel, computer contolled V-8 diesel "road
warrior" and bask in
it's freshly minted mid-century modern rock star
Zen lounge. You can
use the whole 1,400 mile non-stop range and still hate to
leave the
magic highway this time
machine evokes!
General Condition and Recent Upgrades:
This classic riveted-construction Prevost XL coach received an
extensive and thoughtful freshening and update in 2010 and is in extraordinary
condition, drawing attention wherever she goes.
The coach has covered approximately 205,000 miles since new, and
38,000 miles since the 8V92 Detroit Diesel was rebuilt and the turbocharger and
DDEC-II computer replaced by the prior owner. The Allison 5-speed automatic
transmission, engine, cooling system and chassis were all serviced within the last
5,000 miles. All coach systems have been inspected and any deficiencies noted
have been corrected. The 22.5 Toyo radial tires appear as-new and have
approximately 90% tread remaining.
The exterior paint was refreshed in the original scheme, and the front
stainless skins replaced to eliminate the small rock dings that had collected over
the years. A new custom one-piece Summit lexan shield (Body Block) was
installed to prevent such dings in the future. The beautiful Liberty aluminum
castings were modified to integrate the shield mounts and re-polished along with
the VelVac mirrors.
The cockpit was updated with a new Magellan 7 touch screen navigation
system and a new Cobra CB radio.
The interior was updated with modern high-end entertainment systems
and select hardware, fixtures and soft goods to provide a current and modern feel
while remaining faithful to the remarkably tasteful Liberty interior, which in itself is
rare for a coach of this era.
Entertainment upgrades include a new Intellian marine satellite antenna
and controller for in-motion High-Definition programming from Dish Network, with
separate High Definition receivers in the bedroom and living area. Both areas
also received new 1080p High Definition widescreen flat panel TV monitors from
Dell (27 in the living area and 24 in the bedroom), each integrated flush in the
modified existing cabinetry on custom pullouts for easy service. Both areas also
received Sony PS-3 gaming consoles with integrated DVD/BluRay disc players,
and automatic HDMI input switchers for simplified operation (whichever
component is last turned on is automatically routed to the monitor). The living
area received an audiophile-grade audio system (also serving the HD video and
TV sources) with a new in-dash McIntosh AM/FM/CD player/control center, two
large McIntosh power amplifiers on a custom mounting board hidden behind the
sofa, and (8) a/d/s component speakers including dual subwoofers in a custom
cabinet hidden under the sofa. The bedroom received a Kenwood AM/FM/CD
music system with iPod port (also integrated with the bedroom TV/video system)
using (4) existing Kenwood speakers. In all cases he coach cabinetry was
modified or replaced to accommodate the components for a factory-installed and
integrated appearance, and speaker grilles were painted to match where
appropriate. The power-operated Concord off-air TV antenna, amplifier and
controller were also replaced for cosmetic reasons.
The 15kw Powertech Generator was removed to allow replacement of the
sound insulation in the bay with upgraded marine materials, and to renew the
sound-isolation air bags, lines and fittings that the generator rides on. Though
running perfectly at just over 6,000 hours on the Kubota diesel, the generator
was repainted and serviced while removed. The while-weʼre-at-its prior to paint
included injector service, valve adjustment, cleaning and testing the generator
end and replacing the generator-end main bearing, replacement of all belts,
hoses, water pump, thermostat, output and fan circuit-breakers and many
accessories. Well-maintained, these generators often enjoy a 20,000-hour
service life before major overhaul or replacement.
The coach is provided with a complete set of manuals and schematics for
all systems, a stock of replacement lamps and service parts, a slide-out tool
chest with tools, Blue Ox tow bar, new towels, linens and bedding, and a full
complement of cookware, silverware and kitchen tools. Just bring your
toothbrush and go.
