Island Paradise at Parliament
Coach: 2007 Open House
By any standards, the 2007 Parliament
Travel Club's Island Paradise Open House was a great success. With over 180
attendees present, Parliament's newly expanded facility drew Prevost coaches,
Foretravel, Blue Bird coaches, you-name-it.
The kickoff event was a catered meal
featuring island favorites and specialty foods brought into Parliament,
followed by entertainment provided by Paris and the Birds of Paradise,
with plenty of tiki and island décor gracing the new Parliament entertainment
area and the administration facility. Plenty of dancing and lots of fun for
all kicked off the 4-day affair.
The following day, attendees hopped on
Prevost coaches and drove off to Tarpon Springs, Florida, one of the more
interesting places to visit along the Tampa-area coastline along the Gulf.
The visit to Tarpon Springs included a tour of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox
Church by the Parliament club, a unique religious and cultural center of
Tarpon Springs. The town, originally boosted by Greek immigrants in the early
1900's brought their religious and cultural origins with them, which exist to
this day. Sponge diving, food and the wide range of Greek culture was evident
as the attendees then moved to the waterfront for a ride on the St. Nicholas
tour boat, which included a demonstration of sponge diving as it is now
practiced. Plenty of shops along the waterfront were, 'visited' by the Travel
Club attendees, and the return buses showed the results of those visits!
Not to be missed were the men's
technical workshops and the Ladies Faire, both held at the Parliament
Entertainment Center. There, a representative from Prevost Car provided the
latest updates on technical issues from the company, and a Power Tech
generator seminar was held. In addition, three workshops were held for the
ladies, including Merle Norman, Kandle Werks and Elaina's Affordable Elegance.
On the final evening of the event,
attendees once again boarded Prevost luxury coaches to the Starlite
Majesty cruise ship in Clearwater Harbor for a private cruise of the
waterfront, harbor and gorgeous homes along the coast of the Clearwater area.
The meal included a selection of 12 entrees, cocktails, appetizers and
sumptuous desserts. Plenty of food and lots of dancing resulted in the
late-evening entertainment.
Of course, Parliament, being the only
firm which is a manufacturer of Prevost conversion coaches, Foretravel dealer
and Blue Bird dealer, as well as a dealer of luxury coaches and general, would
have been remiss if it didn't have new and pre-owned coaches for attendees to
visit and dream about (Some did more than dream!)
Of particular interest was
Parliament's newest 2008 H3-45 Prevost Conversion which offered a
center-island kitchen and plenty of innovative design and technical features.
The last day gave all those who
attended a great send-off breakfast and for the bikers in the crowd, a
motorcycle trip in and around the Tampa and Clearwater area.
Parliament Coach Corporation,
headquartered in Clearwater, Florida, is a manufacturer of Prevost conversion
coach, a Foretravel and Blue Bird dealership.
