What A Rally! POG V, Prevost Owners Group Rocks TN.!

The Prevost Owners Group held its' fifth rally, POG V, in Sevierville,TN April 14-19, 2008.
The 50 coaches attending this event included Prevosts brought by sponsors Amadas Coach/Tom Johnson Camping Center, Liberty Coach, Parliament Coach and Panterra Coach. The event was a testament to the great people of POG and the sponsors who support www.prevostownersgroup.com and www.prevost-stuff.com.

There were plenty of early arrivals at the River Plantation RV Park in anticipation of the fifth "formal" rally which proved to be an overwhelming success.

On Monday, April 14, more coaches pulled in and official registration opened up at the conference center. Members made quick work of setting up for the week to prepare for the evening potluck and visit with friends. The laid-back, upbeat atmosphere of POG made it easy for new members or those attending their first POG Rally to mingle. Because of the Prevost Owners Group discussion forum, folks that are friends online may not get to meet each other until there is a rally. The moment they are able to put a name with a face is priceless.

Every POG Rally has a potluck dinner on Monday night. It has proved a great way to share the friendship and vitality of the group. The food was delicious and the company couldn't be better.

Tuesday brought warmer weather and more to do. Member Janice Horner hosted a well attended Yoga session at the conference center. POG member Loc McNew provided coffee and donuts remotely from Houston.

Ben Cummings and Rick May of Parliament coach presented a DDEC Readout Box seminar at a coach.
Members gathered and peppered Rick and Ben with questions and provided their own personal insight from their own experience. Lunch was sponsored by Panterra Coach as attendees fueled up for a full afternoon of activities. In the afternoon Jon Wehrenberg and Hector Duplichen work in tandem to discuss and illustrate the Prevost Suspension System. Jon's working model and Hector's online schematics combined to provide an impressive presentation. Jody Miller presented a stamping workshop. Jody shared her enthusiasm and skill teaching attendees how to make beautiful, personalized stamped items.

Members and sponsors participated in open coaches with plenty of shared food and drink available.

A hearty breakfast was sponsored by Gulfcoast Funding on Wednesday, our free day. Members ventured out to do a variety of activities. There was golfing, skeet shooting, motorcycling, shopping, a trip to the spa and of course, plenty of coach polishing.

There was plenty to do on Thursday with more informative technical presentations from Parliament Coach's Rick May and Ben Cummings. Wendy DeSilva hosted "Total Body Conditioning", a women's exercise program at the conference center.
Following lunch was a Mechanic's Corner Bill Jensen of Prevostcar on Fuel Systems. Bill as usual offered extra time for individual questions from attendees.
Megan Moro of Design By Meg, Inc. presented a talk on coach interior design and upgrade.

Later in the afternoon was the Sponsor Open Coach. It was a treat to have site sponsors display top of the line coaches for members to view. Liberty Coach, Parliament Coach, Amadas Coach and Panterra Coach all brought coaches for display and sponsored events at the rally. During the Sponsor Open Coach, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres were provided by the Three Amigos; Jerry Winchester, "Mango Mike" Anderson and Tom Chilcote. It was a generous and festive spread, as witnessed by the abundance of sombreros. The afternnoon festivities led into a great meal sponsored by Parliament Coach followed by the POG Charity auction.

Since Santa Fe, every Prevost Owners Group Rally holds an auction to support a local charity. This time it was split between Pilots 'n Paws and Wags & Whiskers, two fantastic animal relief organizations. The donations came in from sponsors and members and ranged from Coach Service at sponsor facilities to an extremely large and fine bottle of French wine signed by the vinter.
So after a dinner sponsored by Parliament Coach, the bidding began. The kindness of POG members is amazing. "Mango" Mike Anderson was instrumental in raising money as his thirty five year old mustache was shaved off for charity and Jerry Winchester's was saved.....also in the name of charity. Folks had fun, made over the top bids and raised over $7000.00 for charity. Incredible! Happy birthday Shookie!

Since the first Prevost Owners Group Rally, members have been treated to a Q/A Round Table with Converters, Dealers, Technicians. Parliament Coach. Liberty Coach, Panterra Coach, Amadas Coach, and Tom Johnson Camping Center fielded questions from members. This unique, honest conversation is a great feature of POG Rallies.

Amadas Coach sponsored a fantastic ladies luncheon at a local steakhouse where attendees were treated to anything they wanted to order off the extensive menu.
Danny Boes with Goodyear Tire presented a power point presentation and answered questions about tires relative to Prevost motorcoaches. He was well prepared and took time out of a very busy schedule to present and answer questions from attendees. Kudos to Danny and Goodyear for
being part of POG V.
Dinner on Friday night was sponsored by Liberty Coach. The energy of the week did not fade as people enjoyed a great meal and friendship in the conference center. Later on, some folks had fun around the campfire and coaches into the late hours.

As Saturday morning arrived, the coaches began heading home. Yet there was one coach, still preparing for a long journey, a trip out west, to Nevada, and they would arrive early for POG VI!
