X3-45 Details Seeping Out of Prevost Car

 

According to internal documents, Prevost Car is about to publicly show a new "passenger coach," tabbed the X3-45.  It would appear that the coach is an Entertainer platform with increased ride comfort.  Kind of an XLII with increased comfort over the road.

 

 

The X3-45 has a longer wheelbase, 20-percent more cargo volume than the XLII model, a nine-ton air compressor which would translate into about a 20-percent increase in air conditioning capacity, standard independent front suspension and an enhanced chassis multiplexing system.

 

No full coach photos are yet available on the new Prevost coach; however Prevost Car plans to show the new coach at the United Motorcoach Association Expo in January.  The show, intended for seated coach buyers, will be held in Tampa, January 18-21, 2006.  At this point, the company has not indicated whether the new shell will become available for coach shells for conversion, or will be limited to seated or passenger coach applications.
